I'm now the proud owner of my second Olympus FTL. For those not in the know, it was a stop-gap model launched in 1971, available for eight months before the OM-1 took over. I got lucky with my first FTL, finding it on eBay listed vaguely as a loft find. Closer inspection of the listing showed it to have a f/1.4 lens - although the seller made no mention of this. I suspected it would end for a damn sight less than its true worth, and was proved right when a snipe bid was successful at £57. Even if the body was scrap, I'd scored a f/1.4 50mm M42 lens for less than £60, which was something of a result. My original plan was to split the camer

Got my Lynx 14 back from the RCC and scored some expired film. Other than a broken pin on 1/60, the repairman says it's good to go. Can't wait to get a few shots with it.

£100 buys you a great deal of 35 mm goodness on eBay. Took the Praktica with me again to Huncoat Power Station - and I'm getting the hang of its ridiculous shutter recoil when you want to take a photograph. I still haven't quite used the full Ilford roll up yet, but it'll be finished soon enough. Won a Halina 35X and FED-3 for pennies on the world's most tolerated auction site, and my Yashica Lynx 14 finally showed up, 17 days and £21 after HMRC decided they had it. The shutter's stuck and the aperture blades don't move all the way, which is at odds with the seller's description. He avoided negative feedback because he wasn't a ca
